Philly, Friends, and Food

How do you summarize the nothing and everything that has happened during the past 3 weeks?? Let's start here..

I had the opportunity to hang out with Tiff, Crystal, Tess and Dee (a.k.a- The Foxy 5) last weekend in Philadelphia. It was held to celebrate Tess's 24th birthday as well as served as a much needed 'girls weekend' for all involved. Late night talks, boys, drinks, dinner, and Paranormal State saturated the weekend and created some laughs, bonding and some great memories. This weekend definitely reminded us that when the world seems the darkest your closest girlfriends will always be there to lend an ear to listen and a shoulder for support. I don't believe anything else needs to be said other than I <3 you girls!!

After living as a college alumni for going on 2 years I almost forgot what it was like having a neighbor who was my age. As you may recall from one of my previous blog posts we have a new neighbor. His name is Vick and is nice, however, he BLASTS his music which can be easily heard through Marcus' and my ceiling. Though I have not spoken to him about his music's volume, because it can only be heard in the livingroom and not the bedroom so therefore doesn't bother me to talk to him, I can tell you his taste in music including what his favorite genre is.

About 2 weekends ago it was Easter. Of course you know what that means, the impossible coordination of schedules so the family can sit down to one meal together. I say that this is an impossible task because it involves looking at and coordinating around work schedules, other families (ie: Weavers and Hennets) and putting family feuds on the back burner. Of course this is near impossible and on resurrection Jesus day it proved to be nothing but impossible. The end result was Jennelle, Sean, Sonya, Adam and I. Lauryn, Jeff and Brody were not able to make it because Lauryn had the stomach flu. Marcus was spending Easter with his two brothers that he doesn't get to see very often. And finally, Samara and Theo were not able to make it because they had to catch a bus back to the city before it got to late so they left well before it was even time to eat. Dinner was around 6 and was a success as usual with mom-mom's ham as the usual center piece. Afterward, people, and when I say people I mean Jennelle and Sean, got their left overs and went on their way home. Adam went home as soon as the meal was over to go home and check on his mom. And finally, after I finished clearing the table and packing up my stuff I was on my way home as well.

I spent the majority of Easter weekend at Tiff's house which was a lot of fun though. I was able to catch up with Crystal while I was there and the 3 of us went out to the Lounge to have a couple drinks. That was on Friday night. On Saturday night Tiff and I went out to Sarah St. where we met up with one of our Wilkes-Barre College Friends named Andrew. We haven't seen that kid in almost 2 years which is a cray long time but it didn't take long to get back in the groove of our old antics. It ended up being a great night with drinks, reminiscing on old stories and too much smoking. But of course, what and where would a great weekend of friends be without bathroom bawling, confessions and someone being taken out and falling to the ground that would result in a mysterious bruise on your body that everybody but you remembers. Good news though, the bruise on my knee is finally healing. Bad news, I still can't put any pressure on my left knee.

Friday night, was good fun with the family. Jennelle, Sean, Sonya, Samara, Theo, Aunt Susie, Uncle Chuck, Mom-mom and I all spent time dying Easter eggs, eating pizza and drinking wine. Because my family always has to take things over the top some of the Easter eggs ended up with eyes, mohawks, trim, and lace hats. That's right, you read correct. I will post some pictures for your further entertainment.

That's all the antics I have for now.
