It's been too long since my last post, almost 6 days. A lot has happened, people have been visited and realizations made. Where do I begin? Lets work backwards.
Yesterday was Marcus's 24th birthday!! So while Mur was at work, I spent the day straightening up, listening to music and reading. Thankfully he got done with work early so we were able to have the celebratory birthday dinner of tacos and chocolate temptation cookies. So good!! After dinner it started thunder storming which was nice because it was FINALLY cooling it down outside but at the same time put a damper on my plans to go get ice cream. Thankfully, though, the rain did eventually slow down and stop allowing Marcus and I to go exploring, with the help of Google maps, for an ice cream stand. I almost forgot how nice it was and fun it is to get ice cream in the summer time!! On a semi-separate note, I don't care who you are, you are NEVER too old for rainbow sprinkles. Keep that tiny piece of your childhood alive!!
Going back to ice cream. So after the thunderstorm ended, like I said before, Marcus and I left to go get some ice cream. On our way out we were walking down our driveway to find our new neighbor standing on the back of his truck gathering boxes demonstrating he was in full 'move-in' mode. After greeting and inviting him to come along with us for ice cream he declined but made the suggestion that we could 'grab a beer later'. Now fast forward. We get back, run through the rain, gather beer and cookies and then go upstairs to knock on the door only for it not to be answered. After waiting an appropriate 2-3 minutes Mur and I went back downstairs to watch Glee and veg on the couch. About 15 minutes later we hear a knock on the door, open it up and guess what, its our new neighbor. He brought Bud Lite but don't worry, we quickly traded that in for a cold Samuel Adams out of the fridge. Through his visit here a few things that I learned: His name is Vick or Victor, he's cute, has a tribal tattoo on the upper part of his left arm, he can talk A LOT about his truck, he comes from what sounds to be a well off family, he's a pro-golfer, he'll only be living here until November when golf season will then be ending, and finally he is a great admirer of Marcus's birthday present and therefore is invited to dinner on occasion. Over all, I'm happy that we have a cool neighbor AND he's our age!! :-)
Now rewind a little bit but not too far that our neighbor hasn't visited us yet.
In the middle of our conversation we heard the door knob shifting and trying to be turned. Hearing this I get up and immediately lock the door while Marcus and Victor each grab a knife either from their pocket or the knife block. Once everyone was armed and therefore considered dangerous Vick was the brave soul who opened the door. And to much of our lack of surprise we found our neighbor, drunk, again. He was skunk drunk, trying to open the wrong unlocked door with his key and then accusing the three of us that we were in his apartment. Oh my goodness. I felt like I was having a flash back to college with that crazy drunker who came into the wrong apartment, the guys apartment, at three times. Each time thinking that he FINALLY made it home. Anyway, getting back to the story, he did finally leave and found his own home, which was directly across the hall, causing us to lock the door and double check that it was locked after he left. Crazy huh?
Well I think that's enough crazy for one day..And I didn't even get to blog about Easter weekend yet!! Don't worry though, it's coming!!
